Acne on your BUTT?!

Posted by Alannah Browne on

This is a really personal thing to share, but I’m well aware there are women like me getting embarrassing and sore spots all over their bum. I had no idea where this came from, or why!? But after some research, I discovered it was a bacterial issue.

It’s a pain in the butt, literally - it’s an inconvenience called buttne (acne on your butt). Except, it’s not actually acne, it’s called Folliculitis - where hair follicles become inflamed, caused by a bacterial or fungal infection.

Women who exercise and live in activewear are more prone to it, because of the heat and hairs compressed against the tight material we so love to wear, and then the friction to make matters worse.

Lucky I’m well versed when it comes to fixing my own issues, and I of course had an easy ANTIBACTERIAL fix: my Organic Coconut Scrub.

Now, we want to do more than just fix this, we want to avoid it all together! There’s no way i’m giving up my activewear - I practically live in it! So I found that getting my clothes off and showering as soon as I’m done working out, and washing the sweaty areas like my under arms, chest, and of course my bum - then moisturising. My Coconut Scrub saves me again because it cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises all in one shower, so my skin can breathe and I don’t have to block the pores and cause more issues.

Hand on my heart: I haven’t seen anymore buttne, and I’m SO relieved, and I can feel comfortable in my skimpy lingerie again!

I know this might be shocking I shared this, but we are all human, we all go through pretty similar things and I’m happy to share my experiences with you - especially because I can help.

I hope you enjoyed your day.

Lot’s of love,

Alannah xx
